Learn the Think It, Say It, Do It framework to build flowing, connected heeling and motivation!
This four-week hybrid course is designed for dog handlers who want to build a reliable, beautiful heel from the very beginning, or go back to basics and get it right.
Part LIVE interaction with the instructor, part online feedback – all fantastic for building amazing teamwork!
Heelwork is one of those skills that looks deceptively simple but rewards every detail you invest in it. Over four weeks, we work through the foundations systematically so that by the end you and your dog are moving together with confidence and clarity.
Each week will begin with a LIVE mini webinar to present the new games and concepts. Then you will be able to train and get feedback online!

What We’ll Cover
We begin where every good training plan should: with motivation.
Before we ask anything formal of the dog, we look honestly at whether your rewards are actually working for them. Food drive, reward placement, type of food, handler attitude, and the connection between you and your dog all come under the spotlight.
From there, we move into teaching the heel position itself. What does correct actually look like? We explore different methods, including luring, hand touch, and shaping, alongside precision marking and a real focus on body awareness, including what the dog’s rear end is doing and why it matters.
Once the position is solid, we introduce movement in a structured, progressive way. This is the stage where so many handlers rush and so many dogs fall apart, and we take the time to get it right.
Finally, using the Think It, Say It, Do It framework, we bring everything together into flowing, connected heelwork, looking at body position, head position, and how to truly read your dog as you move.
